We’ll Make It Happen and plan a full itinerary perfect for your girl’s getaway, romantic excursion, outdoor adventures and everything in between. If you come to Napa Valley and especially Calistoga then you can’t miss Chateau Montelena for a sip of the wine that made our valley famous. The Chateau’s Chardonnay took first place in the Judgement of Paris in 1976, beating out all the French wines. The results proved that Chateau Montelena could produce some of the world’s finest wines, and that California’s wine industry had come of age. Their beautiful buildings and surrounding grounds provides an unforgettable pairing.
Smaller, family owned wineries are a huge part of the wine tapestry in Calistoga. A premier stop would include Frank Family Vineyards. The wine is exactly as you would expect it to be at one of the most desirable places in Napa. Every tasting is better than the next. Relaxed atmosphere and warm and friendly staff make Frank Family as a must stop and taste winery. As a retired Disney exec, Rich Frank’s Frank Family Vineyards is also one of the go to wineries for the Hollywood elite.
Take a leisurely stroll through town. Enjoy the shopping, galleries and wine tasting rooms and check out the restaurant menus to find your favorite for dinner. From Michelin-star-rated fine dining gems to down home BBQ, Calistoga offers a wide variety of fun Napa Valley dining experiences and unique Calistoga restaurants.
The best part about Calistoga is everything is practically within walking distance. After a day of wine tasting stop for something close to home, JoLe is right downtown and offers amazing California fare. We highly recommend diving into the 4 course menu. You have the opportunity to order 3 main dishes (the octopus and rabbit are can’t misses) and 1 dessert. Between you and your dining partner the options could be endless! With a full bar, open air seating and perfect location, JoLe is a must try during your Calistoga adventure.
Another new kid on the block, from the people who brought you Solage and Sol Bar (another one of our favorites), Evangeline recently opened its doors to much fanfare. Billed as a “casual French Bistro with a Creole soul” it’s another welcomed addition to your dining options. The patio at Evangeline is simply gorgeous with very large, tables and heaters (above and below) for chilly nights. Can’t miss menu items include: the duck rillettes with pepper jelly toast, “poulet grand-mere” a roast chicken with whipped potatoes and “poisson eau fou” the petrale sole in white wine broth.
